Kaupapa

Punaora Rongoā and Hineatua Rongoā graduates have been studying the mauri of rākau for nine months. On completion of the wānanga graduates are attuned to the mauri of rākau. This has a profound affect on their tinana, hinengaro, wairua and whanau. We wish to acknowledge the mahi they have done, the kōrero they have shared and the experiences they have journeyed during this time.

We will complete the wānanga by bringing everything we have learned throughout the year into a day of healing with mirimiri and rongoā.

When we mirimiri rongoā into the tinana it heats or cools problem areas, it soothes inflamed muscles, ligaments and joints. It has the mana to bring balance  and clarity for our wairua. It can have the same effect as ingesting rongoā.  When the tinana is warmed from mirimiri, the pores of the skin open to allow the rongoā to be absorbed into the body systems. You will make specific rongoā for the tinana and learn to mirimiri the rongoā into the body.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

1.  Have an understanding of the pathway that needs to occur for your own healing

2.  Learn movements to warm the body and opening preparation for receiving rongoā.

4.  Learn to use your hands for giving and receiving information.
