About
Mauri Kura is a living curriculum. While each puna (module) holds a structure and rhythm, the deeper unfolding of the journey is guided by the mauri and wairua of the rōpū as we move together. The plants themselves reveal who wishes to step forward. At times, a particular rākau may call to support the collective journey of the group. At other times, a plant may emerge unexpectedly through the experiences, emotions, dreams, or needs arising within the participants, the environment, or the wider movements of life itself. The course therefore remains alive. Responsive. Relational. Guided by wairua. Rather than simply learning about plants, Mauri Kura invites participants into a deeper practice of listening—to the ngahere, to the unseen, and to the movements within themselves. One fortnight, participants may find themselves deeply emotional. Another, they may experience vivid dreaming. Another may bring resistance, stillness, or unexpected peace within the body. These experiences are not separate from the curriculum. They are the curriculum.
