HERSTORY Rongoā Healing Retreat - ŌTAKI

Retreat amidst the sacred and experience the mystical healing energies of the Ōtaki River, the mighty Tararua Ranges and its powerfully healing medicine traditions at the beautiful Waihoanga Retreat.

The Retreat is surrounded by the powerful nature of rongoā, the oldest natural healing system in Aotearoa. Close to the river and in the midst of the forest we have the perfect surrounding to deepen our connection to all elements and to our own sacred centre. Combine this with the energy of the Equinox and we have a recipe for transformational shifts.

Rongoā carries the mana and the mauri to penetrate deep into the tinana and flow where it needs to flow to unblock, loosen and release old patterns of energy. Rongoā holds the energetic blueprint of purity. As it flows in the tinana it finds a way to clear stagnation and bring to the surface unresolved conflict within the tinana. When we invite rongoā into the tinana it heats or cools problem areas, it soothes inflamed muscles, ligaments and joints. It has the mana to bring balance and clarity for our wairua.

Rongoā can also be a gateway to expanded consciousness. Higher realms of consciousness are accessible to experience the truth of our reality.

At this retreat we deep dive into the deep states of mind we use to communicate with the plant world. We explore the sacred dimension of plant and human interactions and the territory where plants are an expression of Spirit. We will work with the light codes of Pākaiahi (from the fungi kingdom), Kohekohe and Pōhutukawa ( from the kingdom of Tane). These are just some of the beings that have stepped forward to support this wānanga.

ABOUT WAIHOANGA RETREAT

Waihōanga provides group accommodation that includes a main lodge, private cabins, and camping. It is a wonderful environment to meet, explore ideas, spend time with friends and family, reconnect with nature and simply relax. The venue is available to hire for groups, businesses, retreats, families, weddings and school groups and has the facilities to sleep up to 38 people, or up to 80 if you include camping. We welcome everyone to enjoy this place and make an effort to make it as accessible as possible, with minimal stairs/ steps and road access to the main buildings.

The lodge, cabin and homestead are set in 10 acres of lush New Zealand bush, bordered by the gorgeous Otaki River.

All guests at Waihōanga are welcome to roam freely around the gardens and woodland, as well as enjoy the private access to the river.
