Te Wā and Te Ātea – Level Two
Walking Between Worlds
Having prepared the body as the vessel in Te Whare Kura, the practitioner now begins to explore the dynamic forces of Te Ātea and Te Wā.
Ātea is the sacred space where wānanga occurs — a living container that holds the mauri of the moment. Within Ātea, time slows and the senses become heightened. This liminal space allows the hinengaro to quieten so deeper insight and healing can emerge.
Te Wā is the mauri through which insight is ignited. When engaged with a clear kaupapa, sparks of mātauranga appear like threads of light or aka, offering pathways into deeper understanding.
In this wānanga participants learn how to recognise and navigate these threads of wānanga while remaining grounded and respectful of the tapu within the space.
