Rongoā Mauri Wānanga ~ ŌTAKI

This rongoā wānanga is a spiritual retreat essential to our physical and spiritual well-being. It is an exploration of 12 plants that are specifically chosen to facilitate deeper levels of healing for the hinengaro, tinana and wairua (mind, body and spirit).

As you are all aware, we are living in extraordinary times but what makes these times so rare is not only what is unfolding in the world around us. We are rapidly changing from within.

I invite you on a spiritual retreat essential to your physical and spiritual well-being. It is an exploration of specific plants and how they facilitate deeper levels of healing for our hinengaro, tinana and wairua (mind, body and spirit).

Plants in their wholeness are a bridge. They have the mana to shift your cells and attune your body to a higher path of consciousness. They will reflect to you who you are and show you your highest potential. 

We will begin with Rongoā Māori healing for the tinana (the physical body)  to facilitate healing of any stagnation or stuckness. We will  then move into the wairua (the spiritual body).

Retreat amidst the sacred and experience the mystical healing energies of the Tararua Ranges and its powerfully healing medicine traditions at the beautiful Waihoanga Retreat in Ōtaki.

Rongoā carries the mana and the mauri to penetrate deep into the tinana and flow where it needs to flow to unblock, loosen and release old patterns of energy. Rongoā holds the energetic blueprint of purity. As it flows in the tinana it finds a way to clear stagnation and bring to the surface unresolved conflict within the tinana. When we invite rongoā into the tinana it heats or cools problem areas, it soothes inflamed muscles, ligaments and joints. It has the mana to bring balance and clarity for our wairua.

Rongoā is also a gateway to expanded consciousness. Higher realms of consciousness are accessible to experience the Truth of our reality. We will be working with specific rākau (plants) to access higher dimensions.

Joanne has been delivering Rongoā Retreats for nearly 10 years. She is a Rongoā Practitioner and Kaimirimiri. She is the founder of Rongoā Mauri and has been empowering wāhine to share their stories through the traditional practice of Rongoā Māori. Joanne has been working closely with the native plants of Aotearoa for many years. She has been coaching people to move through obstacles and connect more deeply with Papatūānuku and their inner guidance for nearly 20 years.

Having always felt connected to the spiritual foundation of life, Joanne shares this work with people like you on the journey of understanding how the conscious wisdom of Nature can help you fully embody your soul’s purpose.

ABOUT WAIHOANGA RETREAT

Retreat amidst the sacred and experience the mystical healing energies of the Tararua Ranges and its powerful healing medicine traditions at the beautiful Waihoanga Retreat in Ōtaki.

The Retreat is surrounded by the powerful nature of rongoā, the oldest natural healing system in Aotearoa. With access to the Ōtaki river and in the midst of the forest we have the perfect surrounding to deepen our connection to all elements and to our own sacred centre.

The peaceful, fully private, retreat centre includes a lodge (sleeps 26), 2 nearby huts and 2 larger cabins, a camping field, large garden area, extensive woodlands and access to the gorgeous Otaki River.

The lodge comprises a spacious lounge/ meeting room; kitchen/dining; conservatory/ dining hall.

• Wānanga daily from Friday 8pm - Sun 2 pm
