Kaupapa
You came here to fulfil a purpose. Do you remember?
We are deeply humbled to deliver Te Waka Rākau - He Rongoā in the beautiful Woodlands in the heart of Kerikeri, Bay of Islands. Woodlands is set back off the road on 22 hectares (50 acres) of bushland. This setting provides a quiet and relaxed atmosphere to tautoko our work with rākau for deep healing, transformation and expanding consciousness.
Our bones are the stones of Papatūānuku, our blood is of the flowing streams and rivers and our breath comes from the rākau of te waonui a Tāne.
We encourage participants to sit with Papatūānuku and feel her heartbeat. We ask them to shift their focus from being the observer to being the observed. To find out which rākau is paying attention to them and who is calling them.
Rākau will reveal their healing properties when we connect to them on a deeper level. We must be an empty vessel to receive information that is tapu (sacred). Our hearts must be free from pain, sadness and anger for it is through the heart that one perceives what nature is communicating.
Te Waka Rākau - He Rongoā is a space where we work with rongoā to assist us in purifying the tinana (body), hinengaro (mind & emotions) and wairua (spirit).
You will learn some of the medicinal properties of plants that are specific for our space but primarily, you will learn the deeper aspects of the healing power of plants.
